I found a local blog today. It is entitled “The Last Reporter” and is run by Chet Dembeck, who is in his own words is, “…presently unaffiliated with any political party or any corporate media outlet. My goal is to give you unfiltered commentary.” So far he has had some pretty good thoughts about Maryland politics, including this one and this one, both of which cover Martin O’Malley’s inauguration speech and inauguration promises. I have linked the actual speech, there are two parts, from WBAL.com (a local radio station) as well as the transcript from the Maryland government website. The speech itself is a little complicated, you have to click on the radio links near the bottom of the page and download it to your computer to listen to it, but that doesn’t take very long at all. I will add my own thoughts on O’Malley later, but I think that Chet Dembeck pretty much nailed it.
